I am always so happy when summer arrives because I have more time to READ! At the end of the school year, I make a big pile of books I hope finish by the end of the summer. Of course, the pile is always much bigger than what I can possibly read, but I try! As during the school year- there is never enough time to read. So, here is what I'm Reading this summer...
I plan on reading as many of the 2015 Teen and Intermediate Nutmeg Nominees as possible. I WILL read all ten Intermediate Nutmeg Nominees, as Mrs. D-S has challenged every one of us to do just that. The reward? She owes us lunch. So start reading boys and girls! See your summer reading list for titles. Also, the public library has copies of all Nutmeg titles for BMS students to check out.
The first book I have chosen to read, however, is not a Nutmeg Nominee. It is a book I purchased a few years ago that I never got around to; what better time than now? It is titled, " BADD" by Tim Tharpe. It is about a teenage girl living in a small town whose brother is just returning from the war in Iraq. I figured I start out with some heavy subject matter and read something lighter as the summer goes on. I will post my review upon completion of the book.
